IBM does not intend to provide a solution to this request at this time, so it is being closed. This request does not align with the strategy for future investment in this product. The POWER9 S922 1-core offering was architected as a replacement for the POWER8 model S812. That model only supported one partition and no virtualization and is why the POWER9 replacement model also does not. Customers requiring partitioning should look at the S914 4-core offering.

The CAAC has reviewed this requirement and recommends that IBM not implement this request. This 1-core offering is intended for the smallest customers, and they do not need the complexity of multiple LPARs.

Background: The COMMON Americas Advisory Council (CAAC) members have a broad range of experience in working with small and medium-sized IBM i customers. CAAC has a key role in working with IBM i development to help assess the value and impact of individual RFEs on the broader IBM i community, and has therefore reviewed your RFE.
