This portal is to open public enhancement requests against IBM Power Systems products, including IBM i. To view all of your ideas submitted to IBM, create and manage groups of Ideas, or create an idea explicitly set to be either visible by all (public) or visible only to you and IBM (private), use the IBM Unified Ideas Portal (https://ideas.ibm.com).
We invite you to shape the future of IBM, including product roadmaps, by submitting ideas that matter to you the most. Here's how it works:
Start by searching and reviewing ideas and requests to enhance a product or service. Take a look at ideas others have posted, and add a comment, vote, or subscribe to updates on them if they matter to you. If you can't find what you are looking for,
Post an idea.
Get feedback from the IBM team and other customers to refine your idea.
Follow the idea through the IBM Ideas process.

Setting these JVM properties from the command line should change the locale:
-Duser.language=de
-Duser.country=DE
However, testing on my Windows PC with the above properties does not seem to work correctly...not sure why but either an issue with Windows or the JVM.
However, when setting the locale within ACS to de_DE from Edit-->Preferences and restarting ACS does impact the format of the date. Also, the following works correctly when running on the IBMi:
JAVA CLASS('/QIBM/ProdData/Access/ACS/Base/acsbundle.jar') PARM('/plugin=cldownload' '/system=localhost' '/hostfile=library/dates' '/display') PROP((user.language de) (user.country DE))
For example, here is the date format I get when using my default locale in the US:
03/27/96
And here is the output I get for German when I specify PROP((user.language de) (user.country DE):
27.03.96
So it should just be a matter of finding the correct language and country combination that will work for you. Please confirm.
