This portal is to open public enhancement requests against IBM Power Systems products, including IBM i. To view all of your ideas submitted to IBM, create and manage groups of Ideas, or create an idea explicitly set to be either visible by all (public) or visible only to you and IBM (private), use the IBM Unified Ideas Portal (https://ideas.ibm.com).

Start by searching and reviewing ideas and requests to enhance a product or service. Take a look at ideas others have posted, and add a comment, vote, or subscribe to updates on them if they matter to you. If you can't find what you are looking for,
Post an idea.
Get feedback from the IBM team and other customers to refine your idea.
Follow the idea through the IBM Ideas process.

This change will not be implemented for 7.2.
Meh, my upgrade decision isn't going to be based on this. IBM can either spend the 30 minutes to backport it or I can spend the 30 minutes to write my own implementation. If it comes to the latter, then I'll release it as enhancement to the crtfrmstmf portion of OSSILE.
But as open source that enables open source, it does hit a minor catch-22. So it'd be better if IBM backported this further then what they'd normally do.

I have one word for this request. Upgrade. IBM i 7.3 has been out for about 2 years now. And, with the release of 7.4 coming, I can't imagine IBM would want to invest in this request. 7.2 will be end of support before you even know it.
