ACS - provide option when defining .hod to allow optional loading into common screen or its own detached group tabs

For those of us who need to work with multiple systems/LPARs, starting 5250 sessions either loads into 1 screen or all are loaded into separate screens grouped by the system being logged in to?

Use Case:

I have defined multiple batch sessions.

Each day I start up my sessions and they all load into 1 screen with many tabs. I then have to separate the systems by detaching the tabs and regrouping them into a group of tabs by system.

This takes about 5 minutes from start to getting to log in each day. It is laborious and time consuming and really should be part of the startup process.

As mentioned in the update on 2019-04-26, the capability already exists. You need to use File->Save As Multiple Sessions... That will save all the sessions currently active and will reopen them as currently displayed. However, if you create the bchx file from 5250 Session Manager using "New Multiple Sessions", the position of the 5250 sessions is not known and therefore when you start the sessions using that bchx file, the sessions will open in the current active 5250 session window. You must use a bchx file that was created using File-Save As Multiple Sessions... in order to open the sessions in their own window as they were when saved.

If you have questions on how to use this support, please open a PMR and contact our Service team.

The ability to save your sessions as you have them setup already exists. After you have arranged all your sessions the way you want them, then from one of the emulator sessions select File->Save As Multiple Sessions... You will be prompted to provide a name for a new .bchx file. Once saved, you can use that .bchx file to start your sessions as they were previously arranged. Does that meet the requirement?
