Navigator for i - IFS analysis tool like TreeSize

I submitted this earlier (ID 133748) as a request for ACS, but it was declined and suggested that I resubmit it for Navigator for i.

I can't seem to find a good and intuitive tool to get an overview of the IFS. It would be nice to able to look at eg. the root folder and see for each folder how many files/folders/bytes are in that folder.
Something like TreeSize for Windows' explorer interface (please see attachment).
We don't want to create a root-share on Netserver and analyze through that for various reasons, including security.

Use Case:

Better overview of IFS usage.
Faster pinpointing of unwanted growth.
Troubleshooting on number of IFS object growth.

The CAAC has reviewed this requirement and recommends that IBM not implement this request. There are modern tool work-arounds -- use Open Source or use SQL, as mentioned in earlier comments.

The CEAC has reviewed this requirement and recommends that IBM view this as a MEDIUM priority requirement that should be addressed.

If a text interface is good enough, there is this tool called NCurses Disk Usage - see more about it here: https://dev.yorhel.nl/ncdu.

The source can be retrieved from the git repository and compiled in PASE using the compiler tools installed via YUM. I compiled it on our 7.3 partition without any issues so far.

Maybe IBM can include this tool in their YUM repository, so compile would not be necessary?

You can already easily do what you are asking for with SQL Services . See the iSee video blog for examples.
