ACS - Support Defining Multiple System Configs for one Server

Right now you con only define one Configuration for a given system.
It would be nice to have the ability to define multiple Configurations to a single system that have different settings like user name and what not.

Use Case:

I am doing work as a developer and quickly need to do an admin level change that requires a different user.
Or I am a developer that needs to use a different account to do testing under.

We have decided to decline this request. You can still have multiple configurations to the same system by having multiple ACS configuration locations. This can be done by setting com.ibm.iaccess.AcsBaseDirectory in AcsConfig.properties. You can also have multiple instances of ACS running at the same time. So you could have multiple instances of ACS installed to different locations where each one would have a different setting for com.ibm.iaccess.AcsBaseDirectory in AcsConfig.properties.

IBM understands this request and will consider it for a future code update, though no commitment is made or implied.

Ah, now I think I understand what you are saying on how to set it up. This type of set-up is NOT intuitive.
We are also told to not use IP addresses because they can change.
So, maybe the 'Performance' section needs to be updated to support a DNS entry somehow?

Using the IP is a work around and not a solution. We would still be limited to 2 connections per server. And then there is the fact that the drop-down to select the connection has the IP and not any other information.
It would make more sense if the Drop-down for selecting the Connection was a "Description" field and the actual Server field used for connection was a property under that.
    Ex:
    SystemA - Test
    SystemA - Qsecofr
    SystemA - UserXYZ
    ...

As was previously mentioned, this support is already available by specifying the IP address on the Connections tab at:
System Configurations, New, on the Connection tab and in the Performance section specify an "IP address lookup frequency" of "Never - Specify IP address". Then you will need to provide the IP address of the system.

The Password Prompting section can be set to whatever you prefer and on the General tab the system name will not be used to do a DNS lookup so it can be set to whatever you prefer. The caveat of course is that if the IP address of the system changes, this configuration will have to be manually changed to point to the new IP address.

    Does this satisfy the request?

I'm not sure what's being asked here. I currently have one IBM i system and I have multiple connections defined for it. On the bottom half of Connection tab, I select "Never - Specify IP address" so that I control what system it points to. You can set up the top half (Password Prompting) in whatever works for your purpose.
