In our enterprise (and many others) the software on our users' workstations needs to be managed centrally using tools such as InTune, SCCM, etc. Currently there isn't a supported way of doing this for ACS. This is becoming a serious issue/challenge for us, and I'm sure it's an issue for other companies as well. As great a tool as ACS is, this seems like a major oversight. We really need a way to manage ACS (install/upgrade) on users' workstaions remotely.

I had to create a PowerShell based installer for a customer exactly due to this issue (also looked into doing an .MSI version as well, but the customer was not interested). Their security guys threw all kind fits when they realized that the default installer is JS based.

Deploying an updated version could be as simple as extracting the contents of IBMiAccess_v1r1.zip over the top of an existing installation. There is nothing that prevents SCCM and InTune from being used to copy the updated files. Building your own msi is also an option, but is not as trivial as some of the other methods. If you are ok with your users pushing a button to do the update, see:

At this time, we do not have any plans to provide other ways of deploying ACS.
