IBM i ACS - system configuration option to add links

In ACS it is now possible to add only only one "Tape Management" link. (this also where we can add a link for the HMC http gui ).
Having a limit of being only able to add one, does not fit our need. We have systems with more Tape Libraries to manage.
We would also like to be able to add more links, with the option to name the link ourselves, aprt form adding tape libraries also IBM ARE is a good candidate.

Use Case:

Add more flexibility to ACS system Configuration in allowing to add links.

As long as the list is complete a wish for more is not needed ;-)

    Many thanks for adding more.

Support to configure additional Hardware Management Interfaces will be provided in the November 2019 update. We will not be providing the capability to customize the name of the link.

The COMMON Europe Advisory Council (CEAC) has reviewed this requirement and recommends that IBM view this as a medium priority requirement that should be addressed.

Background: The CEAC members have a broad range of experience in working with small and medium-sized IBM i customers. CEAC has a crucial role in working with IBM i development to help assess the value and impact of individual RFEs on the broader IBM i community and has therefore reviewed your RFE.

To find out how CEAC help to shape the future of IBM i, see CEAC @ ibm.biz/BdYSYj and the article "The Five Hottest IBM i RFEs Of The Quarter" at ibm.biz/BdYSZT

IBM has received this requirement and is evaluating it. A response will be provided when evaluation is complete.

As a systems manager I am also missing here the option to add ARE to the list. ARE is a brilliant product which needs more adoption. By adding it to ACS here, this might help in getting that.

    L.S.,

For the systems I am working on 2 will do. As my IBM i world is in the P05/P10 arena, I can imagine that for others more than 2 is needed. If it is easy to implement it would be nice if we look at the needs of all IBM i system configurations. As above P10 is not my world I hope others can share their opinion in giving you the right number to go for.

    Greetings Rudi

Providing user named links will not be provided at this time. We are willing to consider other named links. What are your requirements for distinguishing between multiple Tape Management links? Will Tape Management 1, Tape Management 2, Tape Management 3 suffice?
