ACS Double byte character printing issue.

As users in our Asia Pacific locations are migrating from Client Access to ACS - they have noticed that when printing spool files from ACS (drag and drop - or downloading) some of the double byte characters are not showing up correctly. This request is to change ACS so that it has the same download functionality as IBM iAccess for Windows, if the user has their host code page etc set accordingly.
Currently the advice is to change the CCSID of the job that requests the spool files - but this isn't always possible as the characters need to show correctly in the JDE application. (Please refer to PMR ID: 00363,001,866)

Use Case:

DBCS location user was able to view and download from iNavigator to PC - with no broken character printing problems.
Since migrating to ACS, the user - even though they have their host code page set accordingly, sees broken characters in displaying or printing.

The Printer Output support in ACS is not intended to be a full replacement of the Printer Output support available in Client Access. Navigator for i, which is the web based version of System i Navigator in Client Access is intended to be the replacement. If you are seeking the exact same support as the Printer Output support in System i Navigator, you can open another RFE and specify System Management.

For the Printer Output support in ACS, we could consider adding the capability to its text support which would allow you to override the default code page. This would only apply when down loading in text mode. This would not apply to the pdf support since that transformation occurs on the host side. Would this meet the requirement or would you rather pursue the above change to Navigator for i?
