Change ownership of media when it expires

When having multiple systems in a BRMS network, it is possible many could be down at the same time.

It would be nice if a central system could own all expired media, except non-shared media, so that if any system requiring media , can go to the central system to get media


Use Case:

Backups fail because a system owning expired media is down for any umber of reasons, and another system in the BRMS network is doing a backup and requires media but the owning system cannot be reached.

    The BRMS team does not intend to provide a solution to this request at this time, so it is being closed. While we agree with the request, we do not currently plan to implement because this request is low priority and it has been open several months and it still has a low number of votes. BRMS also offers the Start Media Balancing for BRM (STRBALBRM) command to balances expired media ownership to match the required number of media needed for systems within a BRMS network to better plan for system outages.

    The BRMS team will use this request as input to planning but no commitment is made or implied. This request will be updated in the future if IBM implements it. The BRMS team will use votes and comments from others in the community to help prioritize this request.
