Commaon Dashboard for LPAR's using Navigator for I

Requesting for an enhancement in IBM I Access Client Solutions.

IBM I Access is blessed with an option Navigator for I where we can do many useful functions using the browser and one of the options is " Dashboard" view where we can monitor the system cpu and asp utilization etc. Currently, we can view Dashboard of only connected Lpar through Navigator for I

Use Case:

Requesting for future where we can have a common dashboard for all the IBM I LPAR running in the environment this will simplify the process of monitoring.

Currently, we are monitoring the LPAR manually by logging into green screen getting "Dashboard" view is an advantage if we could have a common dashboard where all LPAR running in the environment is listed out it will remove the need of third-party monitoring tool. Operators can acknowledge message waits and monitor CPU & ASP utilization of all the lpars using single window

The COMMON Europe Advisory Council (CEAC) has reviewed this requirement and recommends that IBM view this as a high priority requirement that is important to address.

Since IBM deprecated management central from the product set this is an opportunity to add back the missing functionality into current versions of IBM i. It might also be an opportunity to remove the option to start the management central in the future.

Background: The CEAC members have a broad range of experience in working with small and medium-sized IBM i customers. CEAC has a crucial role in working with IBM i development to help assess the value and impact of individual RFEs on the broader IBM i community and has therefore reviewed your RFE.

To find out how CEAC help to shape the future of IBM i, see CEAC @ ibm.biz/BdYSYj and the article "The Five Hottest IBM i RFEs Of The Quarter" at ibm.biz/BdYSZT
